Tesamorelin reduces visceral fat by mimicking the action of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). This stimulates the pituitary gland to release growth hormone (GH). GH, in turn, influences the liver to produce insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). Both GH and IGF-1 play a role in lipolysis, the breakdown of fat.
